Come and join us as we celebrate St Mark's 150th Anniversary* with our Anniversary Weekend and Flower Festival in the church! Our plans at the moment are:
Flower installations throughout the church. The life of Saint Mark the Evangelist will be represented by a visual symbolic journey through faith, mission, and resurrection. Each arrangement will tell part of the Gospel story as recorded by Saint Mark —so people visiting will walk through Scripture visually utilising many media not just flowers.
Church history display
Photo exhibition.
Event open and welcome gathering from 12 midday
Afternoon Tea 3 pm
Community & children’s activities
Organ Recital 4 p.m.
10.30 a.m. Main Anniversary Service with special invited guests
Keep an eye on this website and the Ministry Area website (www.heartofnewportma.org.uk) for more details.
(* We may have missed the actual date by a small amount!)
The Ministry Area will come together to celebrate Trinity Sunday at All Saints' Church, Brynglas, at 11.00 am on Sunday 31 May. This means that there will be no service at St Mark's that Sunday. Trinity will also be the beginning of five Sundays of focus on the needs of the Ministry Area and the city of Newport, including Sundays at Six - evening services taking a new approach to finding God's will for the area. More details to follow.
